The development of feet and choosing the right shoes

Even if your child skips the crawling stage it is very important that you allow your child to move about on the floor or ground so that he learns to move independently. During this particular phase your child’s feet are completely flat. Only when he or she starts walking will the arch of the foot start to develop. It is a good idea not to force this process: your child must be allowed to move about and crawl freely, and whenever possible bare-footed.

That is why Naturino has developed the Sand Effect system which allows your child’s feet the same natural freedom of walking on sea sand.

Shoes must allow your child to take those first uncertain steps without unbalancing or weighing him down. The sole must therefore be ultra flexible to help your child find just the right balance as he takes his first steps.
At about nine or ten months, baby will start to stand up clutching at whatever comes to hand.
During this phase his feet will start to shape the foot arch which forms thanks to the weight of his body and the work that the muscles of the foot sole are forced to do in response to the different types of strain. It is therefore very important to let your child walk bare-footed as often as possible. Only when shoes become strictly necessary should you start letting your child wear shoes remembering however the importance of choosing the right shoes since they may limit the movement of foot joints to a greater or lesser extent thus affect the proper development of growing feet.
