I would like summer to last all year long, and I know lots of others do too. Whether you spend summer at home or go on holiday, it’s always the most fantastic time of the year!
Why do we love summer so much? Here is a list of eight fun things we love to do on hot sunny days. Perhaps you enjoy doing some of these things too!

The playground is one place you can go to at any time of the year. Your kids can play on the slides and swings, and make lots of new friends. You can take your kids to the playground at any time of the year, as long as you dress them properly: Lina, for example, likes to wear comfortable sneakers that fit well and give her feet the support she needs to run or climb, without slowing her down.

There are pastimes for children that parents enjoy too, if they are “allowed” to, like jumping on a trampoline or whizzing down a toboggan run! In summer, there are so many toboggan runs you can go to, not in big cities of course, but close to them, because toboggan runs need lots of space. And, after my tobogganing experiences, I can assure you that screams of joy and thrills are guaranteed … and not just for the kids!

During an excursion on the river, I thought back to my many canoe rides with my older daughter. Unfortunately, we haven’t taken my younger daughter canoeing yet, because it’s too dangerous as she hasn’t learnt how to swim. But I don’t want her to miss out on this incredible adventure and I hope to take her soon ,making sure she wears a life jacket of course. It’s a truly an extraordinary experience, and I can highly recommend it, but remember that if you are with someone who doesn’t know how to swim, you need to be very careful.
In any case, experiencing the quietness of nature as you slide over the water with your family is a truly memorable adventure that makes unforgettable memories.

Sometimes simple things are the things children love best: and children always love a picnic. There are plenty of places where can have a picnic and it doesn’t take lot of work to prepare, because you don’t need extra special snacks or special recipes. All you need to pack is an old-fashioned hamper with boiled egg, sliced cucumbers, stuffed sandwich rolls, sliced fruit, berries, and you’re done! Remember to pack a picnic tablecloth, and you’re ready for your adventure

It is always fun to eat outdoors. It takes me back to my childhood, to the sunny days when my mother would make breakfast for us in the garden, which always made us feel like we were on holiday. That’s why I love family outdoor eating places, where one can spend hours and hours without the kids ever getting bored. You absolutely must give it a try!

Unfortunately, for lots of people the sea is not always just around the corner – but to have a bit of fun, it doesn’t need to be! There are many beautiful lakes or rivers in areas close to big cities, and you can have such fun collecting shells on the river bank to give to your nursery school friends, or just going for a long swim in an outdoor pool!
